Kenyan Ambassador, confims Obama born in Kenya

On November 6th a couple of radio DJs from WRIF in Detroit called the Kenyan Embassy and were put through to the Ambassador, to ask about the national mood subsequent to Obama's Presidential victory. Toward the end of the call they asked the Ambassador if President Elect Obama's birthplace in Kenya will be marked with a monument or if tourism will increase there.

Here is a transcript:

DJ: One more quick question. Is the spot where President-Elect Obama's birthplace over in Kenya, is that going to be a spot to go visit where he was born?
Ogego: The place is already an attraction. His paternal grandmother is still alive...
[DJ interrupts]
DJ: But the birthplace, will they put up a marker there?
Ogego: It is already well known.

The DJ later said he phrased his question "President Elect Obama" on purpose so the distinction from Obama's father, whose name is also Barack Obama, would be clear to the Ambassador.

Earlier, his paternal grandmother said Obama was born in Kenya, reported here

The Supreme Court is holding a conference on Dec 5th to determine if the citizenship case has merit. If four of the nine Justices vote to hear the case in full, oral argument may be scheduled. The conference is scheduled for December 5, 2008, ten days before the meeting of the Electoral College whereupon the College is scheduled to vote Obama into office.

The Ambassador identified himself as well as the Secretary when she put the DJs through, as His Excellency Peter Ogego. Here is a link that shows His Excellency's photo and his name, he really IS the Ambassador:

Here is the link of the audio. Listen to His Excellency confirm Obama was born in Kenya: minute 12:15 to minute 13:00

WOW! You know, of course, this means he cannot be President. Just as many of us have been saying all along.

Boy I am never good at saying I was wrong. Maybe I am and maybe not but we shall see. Very interesting nonetheless.

the supreme court will be in private conference Dec 5th to determine of the full case of Obama's nationality/citizenship has merit. Four Justices must vote to bring the issue out of conference and to the full light of day. Due to his father's nationality at time of birth, Barack Obama was a British citizen at birth. Obama has said on his website that he had a British passport as a child. When his mother married an Indonesian citizen and took Indonesian citizenship in 1966, Barack Obama was granted Indonesian citizenship and had an Indonesian passport.

There are too many questions!

The Founders said a President had to be a Natural born citizen at the time of their birth so that the President would have no divided loyalties. Obama has many ties and to me does not apear to be qualified to be president on the Constitutional basis.

If the court rules Obama is natural born US citizen, there will be a contingent of people who flat out don't believe it just as there were people who flat out did not accept that Bush was legitimately elected. I'm inclined to believe that since the Hawaii birth cerficiate was authenticated, it should be accepted over oral tradition. However it's impossible for me to reach that conclusion without admitting a natural bias on my part to want to believe that.

However, the Hawaii birth certificate has NEVER been authenticated. The mayor or the governor or the head of the hospital said it was legit but no one has ever presented it to anyone to prove it.

Why is there a Kenyan embassy in Kenya? Aren't embassies usually in a foreign country?

Bill, sorry for the confusion. Yes, His Excellency Peter N.R.O. Ogego is the Kenyan Ambassador to the United States.

Kenya
Peter Nicholas Rateng’Oginga Ogego became ambassador of Kenya to the United States on Sept. 5, 2006. Ambassador Ogego previously served as the Kenyan high commissioner for Canada and as ambassador to Cuba, as well several postings in the Office of the President, including commissioner of special programs, vice chairman of national disaster, and a member of the Emergency Response Committee...

Who cares where he was born? The spot your mother was in when you popped out doesn't have anything to do with the type of person you are.

Anyways, a clear majority of Americans have spoken that they want Obama as President. The majority has spoken. And in democracy, majority rules. Thank God for elections and that we don't turn things over to a few people hidden away in some dark room!

who cares? The Founding Fathers who crafted the Constitution and put in there that where someone was born matters very much, LOL.

Or doesn't the Constitution matter in a democracy, either?

(PS: FYI, we live in a Republic, not a democracy)

Yeah, little trip-wires are put in there to try and minimize the chance of the majority being suckered by a fast-talking faker with ulterior motives. Think that could ever happen? I suppose one thing to look out for would be a mysterious, poorly documented and deliberately shrouded past ...

JUST LIKE BARRY BARACK SOTERO HUSSEIN MOHAMMED OBAMA JR.'S

I'm not there yet but if this is true, another path to citizenship comes from his mother being a U.S. citizen. Here's the US Dept. of State's site with the info:

The Berg video was funny. In it he references "legalisms Obama is hiding behind" -- these are the court simply saying "you're crazy, go away".

When the Court doesn't comment, it means, er, your case is beneath comment.

I just read that the U.S. Supreme Court scheduled a hearing for Dec. 1. They will decide whether or not they are going to grant the Writ of Certiorari.

Elizabeth Prata said...

Christie: that's true but Obama's mother doesn't meet the criteria. If only one parent was a citizen at the time of the child's birth then that parent must have resided in the US for at least ten years, five of which must be after the age of 16. Obama's mother was residing in the US only two years when she gave birth to Obama at age 18.

Henry:

The issue with the cases that have been dismissed is not that theyhave no merit, it is because, in Obama's citizenship cases, the courts have said the person bringing them does not have standing. The plaintiff must have had direct injury from the defendant's actions. The ones thathave been dismisses the judges said a plain old citizen does not have standint to being the case. That was the WA, HI, and PA cases.

The CA case and the the one before the supreme court are different in that someone other than plain old citizen is the Plaintiff. In the CA case, a citizen didn't bring it but a former Presidential candidate. In the Supreme court situation, a State Secretary of State brought it, he oversees the electors of his state. So that is why they are gaining traction.

The Supreme Court did comment, they scheduled the case for conference on Dec 1 and will discus whether to grant the Write of Certeriori. Here is what Donofirio said about the Justices' action, which are extraordinary:

"We do know the case has certainly been “DISTRIBUTED for Conference“, a process usually reserved for full petitions of certiorari. Stays are usually dealt with in a different manner. As to a stay application, a single Justice may; a) deny the stay; b) grant the stay; c) refer the stay to the full Court."

"My stay application was originally denied by Justice Souter. So, under Rule 22.4, I renewed it to Justice Thomas who did not deny it. The sparse reporting on this issue I have seen today has failed to stress how unique such a situation is to Supreme Court practice. The vast majority of stay applications are denied. And once denied, a renewed application is truly a desperate measure the success of which heralds one of the rarest birds in Supreme Court history"
