I'm always astounded at the diversity of our planet. I traveled throughout the world and saw so many interesting and wondrous things. Everything from sea slugs on the desert ocean floor of the Bahamas to tapirs in the Amazon to capybaras swimming in the River Arno in Florence...all interesting, all good.
Now they find these teeny tiny tarsiers in Indonesia they thought went extinct 85 years ago. We've always known about regular sized tarsiers, but these gremlin like creatures are no bigger than a mouse and have eyes as big as dimes. A real-live gremlin!
Gremlins Thought Extinct, Found After 85 Years
Mouse-sized primates called pygmy tarsiers, not seen alive in 85 years, have come out of hiding from a mountaintop in a cloud forest in Indonesia.
Weighing just 2 ounces (57 grams), they resemble mini gremlin creatures, as they have big eyes and are covered in dense coats of fur to keep warm in a damp, chilly habitat.
