How to watch NASA bomb the moon Friday

Did you know that NASA is spending 79 million dollars (tax dollars) to send a heavy missile up to the moon Friday, and bomb it? Yes. I am not making this up. NASA is looking for water, so they will bomb the moon.

The LCROSS (LCROSS (Lunar CRater Observing and Sensing Satellite mission will send a missile traveling at twice the speed of a bullet to blast a hole in the lunar surface. When the 2000kg rocket blasts the moon's south pole, it will kick up a plume of dust almost 10 km high and last about two minutes. Anyone with a medium telescope will be able to see it, starting 6:30PM eastern time. Though, those east of the Mississippi will be competing with a sun that has not quite set.

You can watch the event live on NASA TV, beginning at 6:30 a.m. ET (3:30 a.m. PT) on NASA streaming live tv here. Anyone thirsty? Mmmm, I sure could go for some Moon water!

Or, you can watch the original moon movie, "A Trip to the Moon" here. (14 minutes). Based upon Jules Verne's notes and directed by Georges Melies, this was the first science fiction movie ever made, dated 1902.  The poster above was the movie's promo piece. To the moon Alice!

President Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize! Wow! And only the third U.S. President to receive the honor. Great day to be an American!

I'm glad you are thrilled. However, most of the world is embarrassed. Headlines:
--Obama wins Nobel Peace Prize to mixed reviews
--"It's not April 1st, is it?"
--Nobel Committee's Decision Courts Controversy
--Hollow Prize: Obama Wins Nobel For Words, Not Deeds(Giving Obama --Nobel this early is embarrassing)
--AP: Analysis: He won, but for what?

LOL, Obama hasn't done anything to earn it.For Obama to be put in the same category of accomplishments as Lech Walesa, Mikhail Gorbachev, and Mother Theresa is laughable. I am laughing and you are laughing, clearly for different reasons.

"Great day to be 'American'"? The Nobel Peace Prize is an award given for global accomplishment for the benefit of all humanity, not just Americans. Widen your perspective...

Obama deserved the Nobel Peace Prize about as much as he deserves the Heismann. Guess he will get that one next.

On the same day he wins the Nobel, Iran threatens to blow up the heart is Israel. Now how's that hopey, changey, peace thingy working for us?

yes, I read about the Heisman write-in drive, LOL. My heroes are Lech Walesa and Mikhail Gorbachev. They endured prison, exile, loss of nation...all for the sake of peace and reform. But for Obama who lacks accomplishment, it's the thought that counts, right?
