Townhall meeting erupts over Obama birth certificate

Rep. Mike Castle's town hall meeting erupted over the Obama birth certificate scandal:

Meanwhile people are starting to clue in that the first Executive Order Obama signed was to suppress release of his birth certificate. Probably a smart thing since Obama can't remember which hospital he was born in. Hmmm, was it Kapiolani? Or Queen's Medical? No matter, career soldiers are balking at deployment because they are charging he is usurper. Where will it end? The illegitimacy of his presidency seems to be gathering steam even as his poll numbers plummet.

A quick internet search and one can quickly take a look at President Obama's birth certificate. Here's one link, there are others:

The video would be absolutely hilarious though, if it didn't demonstrate why we have a hard time getting our health care system fixed. Looks like the Congressman was having a town hall meeting to get input and ideas for health care reform. Unfortunate for the people who were there looking for info. and an opportunity for input on health care reform that this woman hogged everyone else's time. Even if her gripe had merit (someone should show her how to do a web search so she doesn't embarrass herself again) the purpose of the town hall was health care. Wrong time. Wrong place. She should redirect some of her pent up anger, attitude and hate towards health care reform, or at least she should have respected the purpose of the meeting.

Sadly, even if she becomes sick and then goes bankrupt when her insurance drops her like, well, tens of millions of others, she likely still will be wallowing in the hate and anger and not realize she made very poor use of her time when she actually had a Congressman's ear for a moment.

Hi Tina,

there is a difference between birth certificate and certificate of live birth. One is official, one is not. What Obama "released" was not the real deal.

In addition, there are three other challenges to his status as a citizen, all constitutional. One is that neither of Obama's parents qualify as US citizen therefore he does not either. The second is that he was a citizen of Indonesia. Last is the fact that, and this he admitted, he was a British citizen until age 18.

And, if he "released" a real certificate then why was his first act as President to sign an executive order banning release of his certificate?
Executive Order 13489; http://edocket.access.gpo.gov/2009/pdf/E9-1712.pdf

Enough questions remain to be legitimately concerned. I hardly think the lady was 'embarrassed', nor were the dozens of others there, supporting her comment. Neither are the millions in America who also question this 'embarrassed'. Nor is this question one of "hate." It is a question, period. Derision and mockery are not a good defenses, Tina...nor are they becoming.

Sorry for the multiple posts. I thought it wasn't working.

Obama has clearly produced a birth certificate (OK, certificate of birth). There is also a newspaper account of his birth in Hawaii.

But, it is important to remember that there is NO Constitutional requirement for one seeking the office of President to produce a birth certificate, certificate of birth, whatever you want to call it, of any sort. And this is good, because what if you did not have a birth certificate? Does that mean you would not be able to run for President? OF COURSE NOT. I'm sure there are plenty of births in our great nation's history that were not recorded by the govt., especially out on the frontier or by people who did not want a birth certificate for their baby for whatever reason (not the baby's fault), and certainly many more records that have been destroyed in fires, earthquakes, etc.

What if my birth certificate was housed in Chicago during the Great Fire, or San Francisco during the big earthquake there in the early 20th century and it was destroyed? Does that mean I can't run for President? Again, OF COURSE NOT, and the Constitution does not require me to provide a birth certificate, it only requires that I be a natural born citizen at least 35 years of age. The Constitution says nothing (Thank God) about a Presidential candidate having to "show his papers." That is a scary thought!

The Constitution says:

"No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States."

The Constitution says nothing about providing proof of anything. So, clearly, the burden of proof is on those who would question that a candidate's citizenship. So, until someone comes forward with some real, hard, unquestionable, undeniable, absolute, indisputable PROOF that Obama was born somewhere other than the United States, he is a natural born citizen. Crazy people repeating over and over "we don't believe it" "give us more birth certificates," "that doesn't count, must give more" hardly equates as proof, and their insistence is an insulting affront not only to their own dignity and reputations, but to the U.S. Constitution.

When you read the Constitution and it's complete lack of any requirement that a Presidential candidate submit any birth document, or any other "government papers," the BURDEN OF PROOF is on the ACCUSERS, not on the man who was sworn in as President over 6 months ago after an overwhelming landslide victory.

In the video of the town hall health care reform meeting, that woman held up a copy of HER birth certificate. What is that silly lady thinking? How does HER birth certificate prove Obama is not a citizen? She said Obama is a citizen of Kenya...why didn't she hold up proof of that instead of HER birth certificate? That's not proof of anything except this lady has the ability to embarrass herself! I bet she had no idea she was on video and that everyone would be watching her crazy display. Holding up HER birth certificate only proves that SHE is a citizen. And if she meets the CONSTITUTIONAL requirements, as Obama has, of being a natural born citizen and being at least 35 yrs. of age, well, maybe she should have the courage to do something other than to rudely disrupt a public meeting organized to solve our health care problems and do what Obama did and RUN FOR PRESIDENT.

Otherwise, she really should have just sat down and been polite instead of yelling over others. Sadly, some people who were there to hear or be heard on the health care reform issue were left out thanks to one person's rudeness and disrespect. With her insolent behavior she not only disrespected herself and the representatives, worse, she disrespected her fellow citizens who lost the opportunity learn and have a voice on health care reform.

He did not produce a certificate. he produced a cert of live birth, a non-official paper. Newspaper accounts? Not official. Accounts of his birth in the hospital, one in a news report and the other in a letter, all available on "a quick internet search?" Obama himself named two different hospitals he was born at, Kapiolani and Queen's. Again, fail. It is hard to remember the lies when you have uttered so many. other internet pages mentioning it conflict with each other. His own grandmother says he was born in Kenya. So did the Kenyan Ambassador. Neither of his parents were citizens of the US when Obama was supposedly born here.

The constitution is clear, and Obama does not meet the requirements at present, lacking official proof of any kind. There was a question about McCain's birth circumstances, it was vetted and dispatched efficiently in one month. Why hasn't Obama's been? Why the secrecy and the Executive Order? Why the hiding of all his other papers such as college transcripts, enrollment, financial aid at college, dissertations etc? That all other presidents, candidates, and would-be candidates have opened to the public? Enough proof exists to show beyond doubt that this is an issue that IS an issue. It can be put to rest with the very documents he is hiding.

He fails to meet the standards outlined in the Constitution and people asking the question only want the secrecy on Obama's part to stop and the question answered. The townhall erupted because people are tired of his secrecy and understand the issues at stake. And there are more people who are concerned with this issue than you even imagine, as well it should be.
