Scene near where I live

Comer First Baptist Church, down the street from where I live. Dogwoods blooming. Taken a few weeks ago.

I performed a search for "blogs from the south" and yours came up. As a fellow southerner, the pic that you snapped reminds me a lot of the little church that I attended with my family growing up.

Maine is the latest state to legalize same sex marriage. Good news for all the same sex partners in Maine who have been wanting and waiting to marry.

Yeah, but bad news for any of them who have been wanting waiting to get into heaven.

God loves same sex couples, too! And, yes, gay people are and will continue to be in heaven, thank goodness!

God loves all His children, yes. Homosexuals in heaven? No. God punishes sin, all sin. Homosexuality is condemned as a sin in the bible and explicitly mentioned as one receiving special condemnation and punishment. (Sodom and Gomorrah). Homosexual people will not be in heaven unless they ask for forgiveness of their sin and repent from it.

Where in the bible? Here are a few examples: Leviticus 18:22 identifies homosexual sex as an abomination, a detestable sin. Romans 1:26-27 declares homosexual desires and actions to be shameful, unnatural, lustful, and indecent. First Corinthians 6:9 states that homosexuals are unrighteous and will not inherit the kingdom of God.

1st Cor 6:9: "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders..."

If a person is a bible believer then they must believe the Word of Gos in this regard as in all regards. You cannot pick and choose. All sin is punished and that includes homosexuality. Same Sex Marriage in Maine and other states is just an example of the fallen state we are in.

But God is good and He will forgive. A person has to ask Him, though...
