Low hanging fruit

All the lower apples have been picked. Now I need the ladder to get the higher-ups. There is only so much low hanging fruit to be had, lol.

There is a nice 'hole' I can pop up into and have a 360 degree access to some fruit bearing branches. I noticed yesterday just before dusk that there were many large butterflies swooping around and landing on the branches. I worked hard to get a good shot but this one was the best I could do, from below, using zoom. They avoided me even though I stood quite still. I thought they were big for butterflies. And they moved fast. No lazy flitting for these guys. They zoomed.

Ingredients for a collage

Here are some things I have accumulated with an eye toward making something. What that something is, I don't know. I guess I just have to do it and see what emerges!


One day these appeared on my deck. No butterfly body, just two wings on the floor. They looked so lost, so pathetic, but so beautiful, that I got a piece of paper and scooped them up.


I won these on ebay for .99. The butterfly thing was still on my mind.


Opening a magazine I had not read for a long time, out slipped some rose petals I had gathered this summer and pressed inside the magazine to dry. What a happy surprise! I like it when I forget things in pockets and stuff.


I won these on ebay too for .99 cents. I like a copper border to my collages. I think it 'finishes' them somehow.

Wow! See how creative some people are?


I shared some paste papers with a fellow artist and crafter who lives down the street. We met on the internet. But turns out live 1/8 of a mile from each other in real life, lol! So I dropped off some things as a surprise the other day and as a surprise back today I received this lovely butterfly. Never in a million years would I have ever thought to use buttons and beads this way. The wings are from a piece of paste paper I'd included in the bag. Thank you Maggie Grace Creates!!

PS: Kimimela is Native American word for butterfly, a symbol of transformation.
