Despair and Destruction
Aaron Russo's documentary Freedom to Fascism. A tremendous and factual journey through the decline of America. Once you see this you will understand that after today, we will have become a Fascist nation.
And this: Dmitry Orlov's essay on Socialism v. Fascism. A clearly written description of exactly what Fascism is, and why we are there.
That Bastion of American Socialism
"Over the past few months the American mainstream chatter has experienced a sudden spike in the gratuitous use of the term "Socialist." It was prompted by the attempts of the federal government to resuscitate insolvent financial institutions. These attempts included offers of guarantees to their clients, injections of large sums of borrowed public money, and granting them access to almost-free credit that was magically summoned ex nihilo by the Federal Reserve..."more at the link
For those who are about to mourn, I salute you. Keep the faith, and remember, there is only one man who can 'save the world', who can bring everlasting 'hope' and that man is not Barack Hussein Obama. It is Jesus. Put your faith in Him and His control, and all will be well. Today will recede from your mind and if you know Jesus, you will truly know change, not temporary bailout change, but true soul change from the inside.

No pressure here
UK Daily Mail: Obama can save us, says America as polls show wave of optimism sweeping the nation
Barack Obama moves into the White House on Tuesday amid a surge of optimism that he can turn America's battered fortunes around.
UK Independent: The man who will change the world
In Britain, as our poll today suggests, fully three-quarters of the population say they are "confident that Barack Obama will live up to the expectations people have that he will be a force for good in the world".
UK: Guardian: President 'has four years to save Earth'
Barack Obama has only four years to save the world. That is the stark assessment of Nasa scientist and leading climate expert Jim Hansen who last week warned only urgent action by the new president could halt the devastating climate change that now threatens Earth. Crucially, that action will have to be taken within Obama's first administration, he added.
Australia Courier: Can Democrat President-elect Barack Obama save the US?
Most significantly, he has called on Americans to have faith that he can deliver the change he promised in his sweeping electoral victory over the Republicans' John McCain two months ago

Let them eat cake, says Obama's gesture
"One of the world's rarest and most precious metals, only about 25 tons of rhodium are mined each year, setting the price at over $7,660 per ounce -- or about ten times the cost of gold."
The DailyMail asked: "Are our elected politicians mature enough to face a recession?" Does it not seem in bad taste to buy a piece of bling for his wife in a gesture so over the top in a hard recession? And contrary to his own words uttered just a few DAYS ago?
"Obama vows line-by-line budget review"
President-elect Barack Obama vowed today to get rid of federal programs that no longer make sense and run others in a more frugal way to make Washington work in tough economic times.
Obama said that to make the needed investments to create jobs, "we also have to shed the spending we don't need."
Rhodium and diamonds apparently don't qualify as unnecessary spending...

Kenyan Ambassador, confims Obama born in Kenya
Here is a transcript:
DJ: One more quick question. Is the spot where President-Elect Obama's birthplace over in Kenya, is that going to be a spot to go visit where he was born?
Ogego: The place is already an attraction. His paternal grandmother is still alive...
[DJ interrupts]
DJ: But the birthplace, will they put up a marker there?
Ogego: It is already well known.
The DJ later said he phrased his question "President Elect Obama" on purpose so the distinction from Obama's father, whose name is also Barack Obama, would be clear to the Ambassador.
Earlier, his paternal grandmother said Obama was born in Kenya, reported here

The Supreme Court is holding a conference on Dec 5th to determine if the citizenship case has merit. If four of the nine Justices vote to hear the case in full, oral argument may be scheduled. The conference is scheduled for December 5, 2008, ten days before the meeting of the Electoral College whereupon the College is scheduled to vote Obama into office.
The Ambassador identified himself as well as the Secretary when she put the DJs through, as His Excellency Peter Ogego. Here is a link that shows His Excellency's photo and his name, he really IS the Ambassador:

WOW! You know, of course, this means he cannot be President. Just as many of us have been saying all along.

Does your soul need fixing?
"We have lost the understanding that in a democracy, we have a mutual obligation to one another — that we cannot measure the greatness of our society by the strongest and richest of us, but we have to measure our greatness by the least of these. That we have to compromise and sacrifice for one another in order to get things done. That is why I am here, because Barack Obama is the only person in this who understands that. That before we can work on the problems, we have to fix our souls. Our souls are broken in this nation."
Ed's response:
"Government doesn’t exist to save souls; it exists to ensure domestic tranquility and provide for the common defense. If I feel my soul needs saving, the very last place I’d look (in the US) for a savior would be Washington DC or Capitol Hill. I’ll trust God and Jesus Christ with my soul, and I’m not going to mistake Barack Obama for either one."
I think the fundamental problem is that we have forgotten what government exists for. Thomas Jefferson said in his first inaugural address:
"A wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government, and this is necessary to close the circle of our felicity." So what were their ideas about the core functions of the government? The Federalist Papers contain those thoughts and debates.
In the paper "Determining Core Functions of Government," Bob Williams writes, "The Founders established twenty specific federal powers for the named purposes of providing protection from foreign invasion, domestic peace, justice under the law, necessary and clearly defined public works, and foreign and interstate relations. They believed government existed to bring cohesiveness, legitimacy and protection to a nation declaring itself sovereign. They were repulsed by a government that would take its citizens’ wealth, exploit its people, and send its youth into wars birthed from ego."
They would be further repulsed by the ego of a Presidential candidate who promotes himself as desiring to serve because he, not God, is a fixer of souls.

Don't believe the polls
Accuracy Of Polls a Question In Itself"..there appears to be an undercurrent of worry among some polling professionals and academics. One reason is the wide variation in Obama leads: Just yesterday, an array of polls showed the Democrat leading by as little as two points and as much as 15 points. The latest Washington Post-ABC News tracking poll showed the race holding steady, with Obama enjoying a lead of 52 percent to 45 percent among likely voters" while Rasmussen says
"Obama Lead Down to 3 Points" Gallup shows "Obama up by 2" and Pew up by 15. Who ya gonna believe? I'd say Ghostbusters, over these pollsters.
Everyone around here is tired of the campaigns. The yard signs have been up for months, ever since primary season, and the national signs are just everywhere. My friend in Maine posted the above photo in her online newspaper, which pretty well captures the feeling.
We shall see what we shall see come Tuesday night...or Wednesday...or Thursday... whenever it's settled. What I'll not forget about this campaign is its incivility.
I've been involved with politics, elections, and campaigns since I was around 6 or 8. My father was involved in supporting various state and national legislators, and he ran for local office himself. I remember drafty Grange halls with echoing wood plank floors, the colorful signs everywhere, the bustling activity. Most of all I remember the feeling that you were doing something valuable, important.
In college I went to listen to John Anderson, whose initial 25% surge in the pols incited the imaginations of us college kids. Anderson's finish was still the best showing for a third party candidate since George Wallace 13% in 1968, and the sixth best for any such candidate in the 20th century (trailing Theodore Roosevelt's 27% in 1912, Robert LaFollette's 17% in 1924, Wallace, and Ross Perot's 19% and 9% in 1992 and 1996, respectively). There was a feeling of excitement that something different was happening, and we thought that in merican politics was if not pure, at least every person did make a solid difference.
Since then there have been some exciting moments, the surprise of Reagan, the Clinton MTV generation questioning the all-important boxers or briefs question (oy), the silliness of the Dukakis in the tank...but nowadays "in the tank" means something more ominous and in my opinion portends the death of the media and as a result, the rise of unrestrained government
The excitement of legitimate debate of previous elections cycles, reflected accurately in all media, is gone. In its place is an entire news media in the tank for Obama, without scrutiny, vetting, or probing questions of the man vying to run this country. When Barbara West did ask some pointed questions of VP candidate Sen. Biden, his responses weren't the news, her questions were.
Now we no longer have debate, instead we have fistfights at nursing homes, VA McCain workers attacked with mace, and most horribly, an effigy of Governor Palin hanging by the neck until dead.
The response to each of these and all the other cases of bullying in place of debate I have not mentioned, is either excuses by the press or simple ignoring. So what we have is a useless media who no longer not even investigates properly but fails to demonstrate a model for civil discourse and thoughtful debate even among themselves; pollsters who are not reflecting the voter view but trying to shape it; and an angry, uncivil electorate incapable of exchanging thoughtful opinions but instead descending to the argument of first resort: violence.
Not much about this campaign can be trusted, the polls, the donations, the words, nor even the results, given the massive amount of voter registration fraud occurring nationwide. I'm sad to have watched the innocent optimism of spirited elections from my earlier days descend into media/pollster carefully managed fake events. Such is the world we live in today...

Gwen Ifill should not moderate the debate
Liberals are crying 'Of course, you right wing wingnut, she's unbiased! Get over it!'
OK, so if there is a second debate, let's have Kaylene Johnson moderate, author of "Sarah: How a Hockey Mom Turned Alaska’s Political Establishment Upside Down". I am sure Johnson would be equally as un-biased as Ifill.
Right?

Obama is not Constitutionally qualified to be President
In attempting to deflect the issue, Obama released a birth certificate on his website but it was immediately detected as an obvious forgery, having none of the usual seals, folds, and information required for HI certificates of live birth from that era. This was confirmed by separate graphic forensic investigators.
Additionally, evidence shows that Obama was born in Kenya. Obama's Fight The Smears website, designed to set the record straight about Barack Hussein Obama, has actually made it worse by stating the Democrat presidential candidate was a Kenyan citizen until 1982. He was also at one time an Indonesian citizen as well. School papers list Obama as a Muslim with Indonesian citizenship. Obama is not eligible to be President.
Berg's lawsuit is progressing, and September 24 was the deadline for Barack Obama to file a response to the lawsuit, initiated by Democrat lawyer Philip Berg, which charges Obama with not fulfilling the constitutional requirements to be elected president, since he is not a natural born citizen of the United States. Barack Obama did not actually respond: he introduced a motion for dismissal, a typical delaying maneuver that makes the defendant look even more suspect.
If Obama is a citizen, why doesn't he just produce the real certificate? Why deflect in a suspicious motion that doesn't actually answer the question?
The answer: because he is ineligible.

You got to do more than just show up
Obama voted "Present" over 130 times, as reported by the New York Times. Whoa! The NY Times reports it as an an issue. I agree.
For example: "Mr. Obama was also the sole 'present' vote on a bill that easily passed the Senate that would require teaching respect for others in schools. He also voted present on a measure to prohibit sex-related shops from opening near schools or places of worship"
Guiliani said it best, "nearly 130 times he was unable to make a decision yes or no. He simply voted "present. ..And you know, when you're President of the United States, you can't just vote "present." You must make decisions."
Its more than just showing up!

Well, at least they're honest
Democratic Congress May Adjourn, Leave Crisis to Fed, Treasury
"The Democratic-controlled Congress, acknowledging that it isn't equipped to lead the way to a solution for the financial crisis and can't agree on a path to follow, is likely to just get out of the way."
"Lawmakers say they are unlikely to take action before, or to delay, their planned adjournments -- Sept. 26 for the House of Representatives, a week later for the Senate. While they haven't ruled out returning after the Nov. 4 elections, they would rather wait until next year unless Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke, who are leading efforts to contain the crisis, call for help."
"One reason, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said yesterday, is that ``no one knows what to do'' at the moment."

Obama coming apart
Then why on earth do the following polls have McCain ahead (except Newsweek shows a tie). Could this be? Yes. Nine major polls can't be wrong.

ABC News/Wash Post
USA Today/Gallup

Here are some opinion analysts who have some ideas as to why McCain/Palin are resonating with Americans: Obama was a flash in the pan? Euphoria superseded facts? Obama is a Muslim? Palin and McCain are the real deal? The Atlanta Journal Constitution, Washington Post, and Reuters are a few of the recent opinions to try and figure out why Obama is deflating like a balloon. Click headline for the full story.
Panic sets in for Obama, Democrats
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Barack Obama knows it. The election he had in the bag is slipping away.
The selection of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as John McCain’s running mate has so thrown him off stride, as it has most other Democrats, that all the momentum he had has vanished. He’s getting panicky advice from everywhere. He intends to launch more and sharper attacks, abandoning any pretense of a new and different, more civil campaign. Democrats know something, and desperation is setting in.
----------------------------------
Palin steals Obama's fading spotlight
WASHINGTON — The Democrats are in a panic. In a presidential race that is impossible to lose, they are behind. Obama devotees are frantically giving advice. Tom Friedman tells him to "start slamming down some phones." Camille Paglia suggests, "be boring!"
Meanwhile, a posse of Democratic lawyers, mainstream reporters, lefty bloggers and various other Obamaphiles are scouring the vast tundra of Alaska for something, anything, to bring down Sarah Palin: her daughter's pregnancy, her ex-brother-in-law problem, her $60 per diem, and now her religion. (CNN reports — news flash! — that she apparently has never spoken in tongues.) Not since Henry II asked if no one would rid him of his turbulent priest, have so many so urgently volunteered for duty.
Obama tries to regain his stride
Reuters
The emergence of Palin, an anti-abortion and pro-gun conservative who electrified the party's base supporters, seemed to knock Obama off stride and propelled the Republicans into a slight lead in the November 4 election race in a flurry of national opinion polls.

5 reasons why McCain has pulled ahead
Politico.com
John McCain's surge in the polls comes even as Barack Obama has inherited the most favorable Democratic environment since the Watergate era — an unpopular Republican president, an unpopular war and a flagging economy. Suddenly, though, Democrats have found themselves in a world turned upside down, where Republicans have the momentum

An oxymoron, for sure
From the AP: Obama discussing why he did not answer the question at Saddleback by Rick Warren about when does life begin:
"WASHINGTON - Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama acknowledged Sunday that he was probably too flip when he said it was "above my pay grade" to answer a question about when is a baby entitled to human rights.
Obama gave his answer last month at a nationally televised religious forum sponsored by minister Rick Warren at his megachurch in Orange County, Calif.
Asked on Sunday whether the "above my pay grade" answer was too flip, Obama said: "Probably. ...What I intended to say is that, as a Christian, I have a lot of humility about understanding when does the soul enter into ... It's a pretty tough question."
Apparently. Obama was distracted by trying to figure out how to boast about having a lot of humility in a humble way.

That's what happens when TV people mix politics and work: Oprah's dilemma
Oprah, supporter of the little person, the schlepping stiff, the working mom, like this "Suburban Mother Supporting Her Children By Stripping" who appeared on the show in February 2008:
"Marian married at 29 and had 3 children, but divorced at 38 and began raising her children alone. At 43, Marian from Atlanta is now divorced. She looks like a typical suburban mom during the day, but plays the character "Charlie" at an upscale gentleman's club stripping at night. Marian dances 3 nights a week at the club and is able to have time to herself and plenty of time at home with her kids." Marian is invited to the show to tell about having time to spend with her children because she strips at night, but not 44 year old Sarah from Wasilla who married her high school sweetheart and stayed married to him and raised five children and as far as we know never bared her body for money but did join the PTA to make her kids' education better. EGAD! Not HER!
Or Carson Kressley, host of the new Lifetime Network show How to Look Good Naked, on the show also in February 2008, a man who works with women to help them love their bodies. After 4 years of helping straight guys find style on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy Carson is ready to take on his "perception revolution."
But heaven forbid that Oprah's invitation could legitimize the 'perception' that Sarah Palin is a normal mom and wife who rose through the political ranks to what could now be the highest office women have ever held in this country. Let me think about this one, Oprah sayz:
BIG DILEMMA: OPRAH BALKS AT HOSTING SARAH PALIN; STAFF DIVIDED
Fri Sep 05 2008 08:55:46 ET
Oprah Winfrey may have introduced Democrat Barack Obama to the women of America -- but the talkshow queen is not rushing to embrace the first woman on a Republican presidential ticket!
Oprah's staff is sharply divided on the merits of booking Sarah Palin, sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.
"Half of her staff really wants Sarah Palin on," an insider explains. "Oprah's website is getting tons of requests to put her on, but Oprah and a couple of her top people are adamantly against it because of Obama."
One executive close to Winfrey is warning any Palin ban could ignite a dramatic backlash!
It is not clear if Oprah has softened her position after watching Palin's historic convention speech.
Last year, Winfrey blocked an appearance by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, timed to a promotional tour of his autobiography.
Oprah and executive producer Sheri Salata, who has contributed thousands of dollars to Obama's campaign, refused requests for comment.

Nope to Obama hypnosis
This week, half the known world is trailing Obama's every move in his rock star swing through Europe and the Middle East. Meanwhile, McCain submitted an Op-Ed piece to the New York Times to rebut an earlier piece they had published about Obama, and the NYT rejected it, claiming that they were looking for something that more closely "mirrors" what Obama had written. And though I feel only revulsion toward a man who would say such a horrendous thing about his wife in public, I did feel a twinge of pity at this headline:
"LONE REPORTER GREETS MCCAIN PLANE: “In Manchester last night, there was just one reporter and one photographer waiting for McCain..."
Today, the McCain campaign released a clip of news anchors crying, swooning, following, and loving Obama. There's Chris Matthews feeling that ole thrill up his leg, Tucker Carlson's 'I have a crush' claim, and all the others. It is apparent we have lost any semblance of a free press.

The Farting Reverend goes nutty
And the rest of the clip that Bill OReilly alludes to, that they would not air and was worse than was already made public? Jackson allegedly used the n-word.
All interesting, if not precisely newsworthy. I still think the fart is funniest. Buy that man some beano.

I say it again, Obama is a Marxist
How on earth could I suspect such a thing, never mind put it in writing, you ask? Well, his rhetoric around his sponsoring of the Global Poverty Act, which would dilute the Constitution and enforce taxation without representation, for one thing. The fact that his Texas office sported a Che Guevara poster for a time is another. This was reported in the London Times.
Lately we learn that his campaign website, which allows for specific groups in its Community Blog section, has a lively conversation ongoing in the Marxists Socialists For Obama blog.
"This group is for self-proclaimed Marxists/Communists/Socialists for the election of Barack Obama to the Presidency. By no means is he a true Marxist, but under Karl Marx's writings we are to support the party with the best interests of the mobilization of the proletariat. Though the Democratic Socialists of America or the Communist Patty of America may have more Socialistic values, it is pointless to vote for these candidates due to the fact that there is virtually no chance they will be elected on a National level. The members of this group are not Leninists, Stalinists, etc. and do not support or condone the actions of North Korea, China, Cuba or any other self-proclaimed "Marxist States." They do not in anyway represent the Marxist philosophy nor do they represent Socialism/ Communsim. We support Barack Obama because he knows what is best for the people!"
For the proletariat, you mean.

Oh, really Obama? I beg to differ...
"Whatever we once were, we are no longer just a Christian nation; we are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, a Buddhist nation, a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers."
He was quoting from the Pew Center US Religious Survey. Obama had mentioned some statistics just before the above sentence, representing his conclusion. However, he manipulated the statistics to support his conclusion, being that he thinks we are no longer a Christian Nation.
Here is what Obama said: "70 percent affiliate themselves with an organized religion." That is not picture that the Pew statistics revealed. If the issue is that we are no longer a Christian nation, then let's take a look at the exact statistics as published:
76% surveyed said they were Christian. (Evangelical Christians, Protestant Christians, Catholic Christians)
16% said they were unaffiliated
1.4% said they were Jewish
1.4% said they were Mormon
.06% said they were Muslim
.04% said they were Hindu
The breakdowns are more minuscule from here.
There is a big difference between Obama saying "70% claim membership in 'an organized religion''" which is not even statistically correct, and reading the truth for myself, that 76% are Christians. A big difference.
In Parliamentary procedure, 50.1% is a majority. 66% is a Super-majority. And 76% of something is definitely enough to make the claim that MOST people are one thing or another. In today's case, it is enough to say that yes, indeed, we are a Christian nation.
Watch those statistical manipulations, Sen. Obama. I just might think you are a liar, or a damnned liar.
